Ogg on your music player with Banshee 2 Comments
Lately my Samsung T10 mp3 music player was finally repaired and working again. After I removed some music it started to freeze at start-up.
At the shop they replaced the firmware and now everything is fine again. The player supports OGG, so I’d like to use that format now there is a possibility.
When I was adding [...]
Perfect World on Ubuntu 10 Comments
You may already know that I’m playing an MMORPG called Regnum Online, but I’ve also grown fond of the Asian game Perfect World. It is only available for Windows, and is listed as Garbage at Wine’s AppDB. There are indeed some glitches in the game and you’ll have to disable something in the code of [...]
Small downtime Comment
My host, WebXtra, had a small downtime lasting from just before 12.00 Dutch time today to around 17.30.
It seems to be caused by a DDoS attack on their network in the city of Nijmegen attacking some specific servers within the network. The problem was solved by blocking the attacked IP addresses.
Blog refreshment 2 Comments
I recently moved this blog to a subdomain and placed a boring static HTML page at the top-level domain to make space for other website parts. However, the other parts never came and I wasn’t really happy with the new situation. Now I’m back at qense.nl and thanks to Stefano I figured out how to [...]
Ubuntu Wanted rewrite correction Comment
Earlier I wrote about the end of the rewrite of Ubuntu Wanted. It turns out that I was a bit too enthusiast about the new code lines. Instead of 10024 lines, an ohcount of the trunk gives 7416 lines of code.
This was probably caused by Ohcount also counting the safety copies. The possitive side of [...]
Ubuntu Wanted Rewrite finished 2 Comments
I feel empty now I don’t have to work on rewriting Ubuntu Wanted anymore. I feel so empty I only wrote
MVC-pattern rewritten
The MVC-pattern is now applied more strictly.
in the changelog.
After several days of work I know managed to let the code do roughly the same with 3117 lines of code more, which means the codebase [...]
Apps Guerilla meme 3 Comments
Stefano Forenza started a meme that could end up being very interesting for the composers of distributions and (potential) developers of opensource project.
In the meme [Meme] Apps Guerrilla he asks his readers to write in short about their opinions on desktop applications. Here it comes:
Answer the following questions with less than 50 words each (mind, [...]
Cool Compiz plugin: Scale 2 Comments
I just found out that the Scale plugin of Compiz can do more than just showing all opened windows next to each other: as long as you keep the Super key pressed you can search for the right window by typing.
It is case-sensitive, but apart from that I really like this feature. Go, Compiz devs!
Ubuntu Wanted meeting and Ohloh page Comment
Yesterday we helt a Ubuntu Wanted meeting at #ubuntu-website. We had a really nice talk — it’s good to talk about your project with some people — and decided this:
MadsRH, assisted by Pasi Lallinaho, is responsible for the theme, when they’ve come up with something in HTML or in the form of a Drupal 5 [...]
